How to maintain the water in an inflatable pool?

We purchased an inflatable pool for our family. It is not huge; the “swim” area is 8ft by 4 ft and it holds 289 gallons of water. It does not have a pump. Obviously with that much water I don’t wan’t to change the water often. We have a debris cover and we have a net to catch stray debris. I also purchased some pool shock for these types of pools. Now, even with all our care the water is still murky. How can I maintain the water?

Murky water is caused by burnout of chlorine in the pool water. Hot sunny days will dissipate the chlorine too. Pool water that is stagnant can become full of bacteria. If rain water gets into the pool water, it effects the pH of the water.

A liquid shock product is better than the tabs because there is no pump to circulate the water. Tabs that come in contact with the pool can erode the bottom.

Any pool store can test the pH of the water. Their analysis will state what chemicals are needed.

Have your water tested at a pool place to see what your water is lacking. Pumps help out ALOT as far as vacuuming them out. Ask your pool store. YOu might have to empty it every so often since you don’t have a pump with filter.
